New Build Yachts

End-to-end newbuild yacht project development, from owner's requirements and concept design through builder sourcing to delivery.

New Build Yachts: Professional Newbuild Project Management from Design to Delivery

Building a new yacht is a far more involved decision and project than buying one ready-made. The owner's usage habits, cruising areas, range expectations, performance goals, living spaces, crew requirements and budget all need to be balanced within the same project. Marinetra manages new build yacht projects from owner's requirements and concept design, through builder and shipyard sourcing, to build follow-up and delivery.

Clients may also choose directly from our current model range as a faster route into a new yacht, alongside the fully bespoke development path described below.

Owner's Requirements, Concept Design and Technical Specification

The process starts with the owner's usage profile, size, range, performance, living spaces and core project expectations. These are then translated into concept design in coordination with a suitable yacht designer or naval architect.

A clear technical specification at this stage — covering layout, propulsion, systems and finish level — is the foundation for realistic builder proposals later in the process.

    Builder & Shipyard Sourcing

Suitable builder and shipyard alternatives are researched based on project type, technical capacity, relevant yacht-building experience, delivery programme and commercial terms.

Marinetra does not build yachts in its own facility; our role is to identify and coordinate the right external design, engineering and builder resources for each project.

Technical & Commercial Evaluation and Project Structuring

Technical proposals, specification scope, delivery programme and commercial terms are compared across shortlisted builders, using consistent evaluation criteria.

Project structuring then defines technical scope, the roles of each party, communication flow and the project's milestone structure, forming the basis for build follow-up.

Build Follow-Up, Class/Flag Coordination and Delivery

During construction, Marinetra follows build progress, project meetings and milestones, and coordinates class and flag matters with the relevant certification bodies.

Inspections and sea trials are coordinated to track construction quality and outstanding items, with documentation and delivery managed through to handover.

Why Marinetra for New Build Yachts?

Marinetra brings together the right design, engineering and builder resources for a new build yacht project and coordinates the process end-to-end on the client's behalf, without owning a shipyard of its own.
